Higher Octane Number 04/28/2011
There is a theory that if you drive your vehicle with gasoline with higher octane level you will increase the energy effectiveness. Practically this is true only for certain vehicles created specifically for higher octane levels fuel. Since they are not commonly spread on the market this makes such a statement a myth for mass consumer. Actually automobiles with ECU(engine control) systems may eventually make the engine less effective since they are programmed based on the octane number of mass sold gasoline. Fuel with higher octane costs few cents more. If you use it you will loose few cents – nothing else will happen, or at least this is what I believe to be the truth. I ordered an art piece made by hand. I am particularly thinking that hand made art is real art – the other is mere a substitute with no real value. When I receive this art I will have it in my room and I will know it is mine. Made for me, made by true living person. It has uniquely bio-energy incorporated inside. The artifacts made in factory do not have this mystic energy inside them. Really I will have my flower wall sculptures and I will know that they will bring true peace and harmony, not as those artificial things made for mass production. The Heritage 04/21/2011
I have a legacy of metal wall crosses from my grad-grand-grand-grand father. These crosses remain in our family passing to the eldest of the sons although we are not religious people anymore. These crosses are nothing special and they maybe even have no antiquity value since they are absolutely common. What they posses is great sentimental value. I stand in owe when I look at them imagining how they were hanging on the walls of my ancestors. They make me think about what people valued in those years. We have no other memories left, no photos, no stories. Everything has gone faded through the years, only those crosses remain, but this is enough to feel I have roots. A Bit of Dissapointment 04/17/2011
The new Shogun 2 game was something I was thinking would be a great game. I remember the Shogun 1 and the atmosphere this game had. IT was long time ago since I remember playing the first version but I have good memories. Since three days I had installed the new second version. It is good game but not a master piece. The atmosphere is almost perfectly conducted to the player, but the battles and the versatility are features that need a bit of more development. They have done a great job but the game needs more. I had higher expectations. Maybe I am idealizing the past but first version was better at the time. Image credit to Wikipedia Should I Change them 04/16/2011
I have beautiful butterflies’ wall decoration in my bedroom. It has been there since ten years. Yesterday it came to my mind that I am watching at them everyday and it is time for a change. So I took some time and I have dug up a nice looking tree wall sculptures in one store. They will fit perfectly. But suddenly I have got a bit sad. What I am going to do with my butterflies – throw them on the garbage? Or hide them in some dark dusty box? They have been with me so many years. How can I leave them and should I? Why Only Medicines 03/29/2011
When you are sick (having a flu let’s say) and you go to the doctor they prescribe you some medicines you should take. So far so good – medicines help your organism for sure. But I believe this is only a partial measure. I believe the doctors must prescribe you also what kind food to eat. Proper diet is necessary too in order not to overload your organism and it is crucial for your healing process. Why else when you are sick you loose your appetite or you want to eat specific foods? This is something that doctors need seriously to consider – prescribing diet too. Image credit to takacsi75 What to Do with My Kids 03/24/2011
I have three little monsters at home. They continue to amaze me with all the ingenuity of their capability of destruction. Everyday I get back home I wonder what it might be this time. They ruin and devastate everything that came in front of their sight. I tried with punishment, with stimulation I tried to learn them to be responsible they continue with their games and their mass destruction. I can not forbid them to play, but in their games they destroy even the indestructible. Yesterday I came back from work to find that the grapes wall hangings I had at the kitchen are no longer “grapes” but only “hangings”. My little ones had stripped down and had used the grains in one of their games. They told me they thought they can fix them back later. What to do? If anyone sells indestructible stuff I will be the first customer of this one. Should We Still Use Nuclear Power 03/20/2011
Nuclear power plants are expensive and when I say expensive they are hugely expensive. Some people say they are greener energy source than many others – charcoal for instance. I say maybe they are cleaner source until disasters happen. We have a short history of using nuclear power and many accidents had happened. Even gods are silenced by the facts. We should stop playing gods and messing around with powerful and dangerous factors. Nuclear stations are very powerful energy source – this is true, but they are also dangerous – a proven fact and also very expensive – proven fact again. We must stop trying to achieve something unachievable – cheap and secure nuclear power stations – such thing does not exist. Should we use them in this case – certainly not! Yesterday I have bought few metal wall crosses and now I realize I had no need of them. They are well made and certainly will look good on the wall, but I am not religious person and I already have other decorations on my wall. They were expensive as all the charity. Anyway I had given my money gladly knowing they will go for a good cause. What bothers me is that I have something now that I am not going to use. It is a shame to waste something made, because I won’t use them for sure. If I had religious friends I would give them but I have no such. Resources have been spent for the creation, efforts have been made these crosses to reach to me and here I am not using them. This makes me feel it a bit of a waste and I hate to waste. Why to Import Food? 03/12/2011
Today I was eating raisins from Chile. Good raisins – tasty and big – “jumbo” grade. I like them most from all in the supermarket I usually go to buy food. I also had eaten potatoes from there. The coffee I drink at the morning comes from India and Brazil. The cocoa my children eat is from somewhere in Africa. I wonder one thing. We are huge country with all kinds of climate. Why we need to import so many agricultural products? I like these Chile raisins but I am sure they can be grown also in someplace here in the USA. Why we import them then?
